Lily's Little Hideaway

Grace and I have been fiendishly packing boxes over the past couple of weeks and attempting to pack literally everything we can possibly live without, even down to parts of the kitchen.  Trying to get stuff in boxes and taped shut before a toddler "helps" by unpacking and ripping of the "tikker" (Lily is obsessed with stickers right now and tape is a really long one), is a challenge to say the least.    We have been quite successful during nap times and have managed to get most everything packed.  Now of course, we have a mountain of boxes that our toddlers are only too anxious to ascend, regardless of how unstable it is.  Oh my, are we having fun yet??

The answer to that is of course YES, and we wouldn't want it any other way, especially when Lily discovered that an empty cupboard makes for a fabulous hideaway.

Bob even made her a little makeshift handle so that she can pull the door closed by herself.  I cannot tell you how many times over the past week we have lost her "Deeto" (juice), only to find it safely stored in her little woman cave.  Gosh she is so cute!

Lily talks up a storm these days and is in a mimicking mode to be sure.  Whenever one of the kids drops something or does something silly, Grace and I say "oh, no," or "oh, dear."  Lily has grabbed onto those words and we hear them all the time now.  Her's however are much cuter and sing songy.  She is concerned about buses (bush) and trucks (tuck) these days and is constantly wanting to go to the beach (beets).  She is also fascinated with her toes and hands and constantly wants to hold hands.  While running the other day she actually reached out and said "Mommy, han."  I couldn't help but hold it.  So precious.

It has been raining up a storm around here lately and the kids have been LOVING splashing in the rain.  Since it is so warm, the other afternoon, Bob took Lily out with the sole purpose of getting soaked.

Who needs a rain jacket?  She loved it, barefoot and happy.  Grace and Jancsi came out a little later all decked in their rain covers.

They jumped in puddles and Jansci discovered the "river" running down the side of the road and promptly sat right in the middle and giggled.

His little rain jacket was no match for the barrage of rain water bombarding his little tushy.  Let me tell you, saying goodbye to this little boy is not going to be easy at all.
