Lily's first orchestra concert 2022

This woman right here?  This is Julie, and she is amazing.  I have always believed without a doubt that surrounding your kids with amazing people is one of the most intentional parenting things you can do. This lovely woman came to me through a mutual friend.  Julie is a retired ballerina who plays the violin like an angel AND teaches piano.  She is a truly beautiful individual and someone everyone should know.  I started the girls with piano and then Lily discovered the violin.

Lily has just flourished with the violin and she adores it. I am so deeply glad that my girls are finding a love for music.  This year Lily's Fall orchestra performance was postponed due to COVID.  She worked so hard with her teacher at school and with Miss Julie.  It was hard, but thankfully they rescheduled it and she was able to do her performance a couple weeks ago.

Lily made all of her own jewlery for the performance and I just had to show it.

The concert was held outside this year (Yaya for Arizona!) It was so wonderful to see all of these kids walking on stage with their instruments.  Made my heart so happy.

I really look forward to watching Lily get better and better with her violin.  She is amazing!

Great Wolf Lodge 2022

It has been a hot minute since we had all 4 of these kids together!  Between life, career, school, and all the things Sarah and I have just not been able to make a trip with our kids happen, until now!  We decided to get these kids reconnected an spend some time at Great Wolf Lodge in Colorado!

The night before our flight was scheduled to leave we got a notice that it was cancelled.  We only had 4 day scheduled with Sarah and the boys so it was a big disappointment.  We were able to get us rescheduled an entire day later.  Bummer.  So on Monday Bob and I kept looking at the flights to find that an afternoon flight opened up.  It was chaos, but I got the girls out of school and we made it in time.  We only lost about 5 hours of our trip.

Like I said its been a couple of years so when these kids first saw each other there was a little bit of hesitation.  Not for long though, and everyone was back to best friend status in short order!  Alpine and Glacier loved having the girls there!

While there wasn't a ton of snow in CO, it was chilly and we spent a lot of our time indoors playing Roblox, chatting, and playing with the dogs.

On Wednesday we headed down to the Springs for Great Wolf Lodge!

Everyone was so excited.

Sarah is one of those amazing VIPS so we got the royal treatment including the unlimited Adventure Pass!

We of course headed straight to the water park.  Both Sarah and I were loving the reality of having 4 completely competent and independent swimmers!  We got ourselves some Mojitos and sat pool side for a while.  It was amazing.

The CO Great Wolf Lodge is a blast.  The slides are absolutely awesome, and the raceway below is quite possibly the best bunch of slides ever.

When everyone got tired of the water we got our comfy clothes on and headed back into the park for ropes course, mini golfing, rock climbing, bowling, and pizza!

The littles decided to play their IPAD games while the bigs went down to play Magiquest!

We were all up way past our bed time, but had an absolute blast!

The next morning I snuck out early to get  in the Dunkin Donuts line and discovered the two bigs up and ready to play.

We got into the waterpark as soon as we could and WOW me and the big kids hit it hard.  I think we figured that we climbed over 1000 stairs riding all the rides we could possibly do.  I won't lie, I was tired!  The littles played for a while before heading back to the room to start packing up.

We finished our time at GWL with the ropes course, mini golfing, bowling, and Magiquest.  I even did the ropes course with my girls and we left feeling like we had done all the things.

Our final half day was spent home just chilling, having dinner, and watching movies.

I am so grateful that these kids love each other and have such a good time together. Looking forward to doing this a few more times before I dare say, they all grow up!
