What a whirlwind of days the past few have been. I love the holidays, but it seems they fly by in a blur of family, food, fun, presents and more food. I love it though, and wouldn't have it any other way. This Christmas we are doing it all. Not only did we spend the past 5 days with my parents up in the beautiful snow covered mountains of Colorado, but this afternoon, Lily, Bob and I are headed out to Illinois to see Gamma Jill and Gampa Steve and then on to Iowa to see Great Grandpa Vern and Great Grandma Joyce. But before we get on our airplane I have to take some time to share the magic of our Colorado Christmas.
I am still not feeling great, but Merry Christmas to me, I didn't throw up this morning......PROGRESS! Unfortunately, Lily caught a nasty head cold and we have been vacillating between coughing, being feverish, having a faucet for a nose and just feeling plain crummy. Poor baby. She is a trooper though, and come rain, snow or sleet, wants to be a part of everything. What a doll.
Mema and Papa bought her an awesome new sled for Christmas and Lily simply loves it. We have spent countless hours in the snow including snowmobiling with Papa. What fun.
We have made and decorated cookies, although I think that Lily ate way more of the dough and the fixins then she should have. Oh well, if not for the holidays when else can you live on sugar alone?
We played with Kennleigh and Mykenna, celebrated Christmas with them, ate cake and made gingerbread houses.
Actually, the gingerbread houses turned far more into an all out adult competition. May the best team win!
We flew Papa's Christmas present, a remote controlled airplane in the falling Christmas Eve snow. Lily loved it so much.
And of course we woke up to a White Christmas! Perfect for present opening, eating, shoveling and enjoying the Christmas day.
We have been busy and very very Merry!
