Family Reunion 2018

So, its August......that happened fast.  July was quite a blur full of amazing moments, travel, and some unplanned happenings.  All in all it was fabulous and I found myself enjoying all of it and committing to catching you all up later.  So here we are....its later, and I am going to do my best to catch up on July before school starts.

Family is a beautiful thing guys, but as life happens, and families form, it seems that getting all of the parts in one location is super challenging and simply requires intentionality.  When Mom and Dad moved up to Vernon, we decided that we needed to start an annual tradition outside of holidays to pull eveyone who could come together, and our first family reunion was a HUGE success!

Mike, Kathy, Maggie, and Mikey even drove all the way from Texas to spend the weekend with us.  It was so great to hug them and so wonderful to spend time with them.

Lily and Uncle Mike downed some cherries on the front porch one day and when Lexi showed up there was cherry juice and memories to be made.

The big event of the weekend was of course centered around getting all of these kids on a horse.  My cousin Nathan and his wife brought up their two horses so between Mom's 2 and Nathan's, we had enough furry creatures to go around.  It was so much fun to watch these kids instantly become best buds.  There were seriously no fights and everyone had a ball!

As you can see, the line for pony rides was long.

Even little Miss Brook managed to make it up for a little ride!

After riding came to a close, Bob started catching kids off the hay bales and it became the new past time.  He stood their and caught flying children for a good 20 minutes before they effectively tired him out.

He successfully solidified his cool Uncle status for sure.

Uncle Chuck even made it right at the end of our trip and again we are just so glad that our first Family Reunion weekend was such a success.

To all the family that didn't make it......Jessie and Josh, Tom and Jayne, Chase and Beth, Derek and Heather.......Know that you all were deeply missed and we hope to see you next year!

Now to catch up on some sleep!
