April Showers bring a Bloomin' Baby!

I'm Singin' in the Rain, Just Singin' in the Rain. Yes we are being hammered with rain! I know all of you in Colorado don't want to hear it because you are all drying up, but we most certainly are not. I have to admit that I love when it rains. Sometimes it is challenging because it is hard to go anywhere without coming home soaked, but I LOVE it.

I think the best part of the rain is hearing it in the middle of the night.

Speaking of the middle of the night, our precious little daughter has decided that sleeping through the night is just not something she wants to do. Thankfully, although she gets up at least 3 times in the course of the night, she goes right back to sleep. We have got her on an awesome routine of bed time at 8. She is so used to it that she doesn't even argue a bit. Every night she goes down right at 8PM. It is great because then Bob and I get an hour or so to just hang out and catch up. She usually sleeps to 6:30 or 7 AM in the morning. All in all, I can't complain. Once I decided to quit being upset about having to get up 2 or 3 times, I have found a kind of routine and actually look forward to seeing Lily.

She has become so snuggly lately too.

At night after she frantically eats, she cuddles on my shoulder and would sleep there if I was willing to hold my eyes open with toothpicks. In the day she also will sit in my lap and snuggle with me for a few minutes.

I love it and it is such a special time for she and I. It just warms my heart.

Grandma Jill came down last week and got to spend the entire week with Lily. Unfortunately, it rained and was cloudy and cold for 5 of the 8 days, but Jill was a good sport and we made the best of it. We ran lots of miles so that the baby could sleep, drank every day (coffee that is) and just enjoyed spending time together. The neatest part of the week is that Lily learned to roll over.

She started the week on her back working to get over to her side and by the end of the week she was rolling from her back to her stomach to her back. Grandma was so proud. Lily also is loving her little toys and especially her books.

She reaches for each page and is really in love with a little krinkly book that Great Grandma Fran gave to her.

We also got to celebrate Bob's birthday!

Yes, he turned 28 officially and Lily gave him a big kiss to commemorate the day! We had a scrumptious dinner and topped it off with a homemade apple pie (his favorite!). HAPPY BIRTHDAY DADDY!

Sebron, one of our dear friends (who is about to become a Daddy any day now), came over to run with Bob during the week and spent some quality time learning the one arm hold every parent should know!

We visited the farmers market after our Saturday morning run and sampled the delicious German Baker's goodies, Yum! We also bought some delicious produce and enjoyed the homey feeling of the market.

While Grandma was here we also took advantage of her babysitting and headed out on a much needed date night.

We actually got to go out for a nice long dinner and then to a movie. Bob and I realized that we had not been to a movie since August before the baby came. We had a great night and saw "The Adjustment Bureau." Great movie and a perfect date night!

Lily is loving her play mat and jumper because she can reach out and grab all of the toys now too.

She is also getting very competent at finding her pacifier and putting it in her mouth. Bob thought he would hang the paci from one of the toys so that she could roll over without rolling on top of it and she managed to find it and stick it in her mouth.

It is like a play time leash.

She is just so much fun and it is awesome to see her grow and become a little person. Spring has come and we are relishing in the new life the Lord has blessed us with.
