North Carolina has some of the most amazing parks. It is like a child's dreamland of slides, swings, bars, jungle gyms, sand boxes and play houses. As Lily and I have been exploring new greenway trails we have been discovering a host of fantastic parks.
Right now she could really care less but I keep telling her about how much fun they are going to be in about 6 more months! I love how active the city of Raleigh, Cary and Apex is. You could spend an entire day going to different parks within a 10 mile radius from your house and still not be able to hit them all! The other day we discovered this new Greenway and passed by 2 awesome parks!
Yesterday it was slated to rain all day (and yes, we dealt with our first tornado close call). The three of us got up early and went for a little run before the downpour hit. We headed over to our new little greenway discovery and after our run decided that we just had to check out the park area and take Lily down her first slide.
She wasn't really sure she liked it all that much. The first time Bob went down the slide with her she had this terrified look on her face and was about 2 seconds away from bursting out in tears.
Poor Dear! If only she knew how much fun she was going to have on those slides in a bit.
Next I took Lily and we walked across the little bridge and I told her all about the fun that she was going to have.
I don't want her to grow up too fast, but I am looking forward to chasing her around on the playground.
Bob and I have noticed that our little Baby has had a major growth spurt over the past couple of weeks. She has nearly grown out of half of her 3-6 months clothes and I have had to box up a couple pairs of shoes too. She is also getting mighty heavy. Even as a breastfed baby she is not in any way lacking the fat rolls. I have firmly decided that baby chub is the cutest thing and just confirms that we are doing something right. She loves to play on her mat and blanket during the day and is definitely starting to travel. Just the other day Bob put her down and within 2 minutes she was off her mat and 3 feet across the living room. She continues to talk and discover her voice and volume and has taken a thorough liking to Rocky. She thinks he is just about the coolest, funniest thing ever.
While Bob and I are very careful to limit the amount of TV she is exposed to, the other day she got to watch her first ever Veggie Tale's movie "Twas the Night Before Easter."
She is just mesmerized by that big colorful box and she was thoroughly entertained. Of course her attention span is only about 5 minutes at present so she made it through the previews and the Veggie Tale song. As you can see I was ironing and sewing too. Nothing like multi-tasking!
