Its a big moment when you get braces. I remember when I got mine. The braces time of life is a real coming of age moment, and its Lily's turn.
Its been a very busy season but I remain determined to keep this blog moving and present. Both Lily and Evie love reading it lately and so I have found new motivation to continue in its keeping.
After finishing the play, Lily headed bright and early to the dentist for her braces! She has been so excited for this and for the beautiful smile she will soon have.
She felt the feels walking into the office, and made sure to give her tongue the soon to be gone smooth feeling of her teeth.
I told her that this was an enormous moment in her life because the next time she got her picture taken without braces, she was going to look at herself and seem grown up. Of course we all know that time flies and that when she gets these off she will darn near be a woman. Cue tears here.
So exciting to pick your rubberband colors. I swear, the color bands are the only thing that give you some consolation after your brackets are on and you realize how NOT FUN braces are.
She was unimpressed at my picture taking here.
When the brackets were set Lily hardly wanted to close her mouth. That may look a smile, it isnt!
She picked purple and aqua for her first band choice.

There have been many tears as we have adjusted to this new normal, but we are all so excited to see the beautiful smile she will have!
