On the morning of day 3 we walked to the local coffee shop for breakfast and then headed back to the Grand Canyon.
The Canyon is a haven for animals so it is perfectly normal to see elk bedded down 3 feet off the trail. We decided to introduce Bright Angel to the girls and had so many memories of our R2R2R last year.
The weather was perfect so we ended up going down to the 1.5 mile rest house. Lily loved every second and has firmly decided that for her 13 birthday she wants to do the SK trail down to the river and up the BA trail. Its on the books girlie!
This place never disappoints and we are excited for many more adventures in this place.
On recommendation we spent the afternoon exploring the Deer Farm. A cute place filled with free roaming deer that eat right out of your hands as well as a host of other animals to get up close to.
Gracie, the camel, was my fav.
The porcupines were Poke-ahontas and Quill-iam. I just about died laughing.
