Fall Family TIme

Goodness, ITS NOVEMBER and I am so very behind in my blogging!  Last week I felt like I couldn't get ahead of myself and spent the entire week just trying to catch up.  Wow am I behind!  Get ready everyone, this week is gonna be a big catch up week!

Grandpa Bob came in for a quick weekend visit last weekend.  It was so wonderful to see him and to introduce him to his newest Granddaughter.  Evie was a doll and gave him plenty of smiles and snuggles.  She is such a cutie.  Grandpa Bob joined us on our run last Saturday.  We put him on Bob's mountain bike and he rode our 7 miles.  We stopped for a little playground break and took some time to get some pictures of the colors and mountains.  Grandpa was jealous of this place we call home.  Victoria, TX is just not Denver, CO.

We always try to do something fun and unique when he comes into town so this time we decided to try out the pumpkin patch and corn maze at the Botanical Gardens.  The day was just perfect for our little outing and we had a great time soaking up the fall fun.  It was a bit of a bust because the snow we had a couple of weeks ago killed all of the corn stalks for the maze and there was not one pumpkin to be had.  Oh well, the corn maze was easier to navigate when you could see where you were going!

Lily thoroughly enjoyed all of the little attractions including a barrel train.  Lily wanted her Daddy in the barrel with her so poor Bob had to squeeze his non barrel size self into the barrel plus find room for Miss Lily.  He did it with a smile.  He sure does love his ladies.

Lily's favorite attraction was the covered wagon ride pulled by the Kodiac Clydesdales.  It was like a moth to the flame when she saw them pulling in the distance.  We could not get in the line for the "carriage" fast enough.  To add to the glee, the driver of the horses gave everyone a sucker.  Lily's dream land, sugar and horses.  Evie was content to go and do whatever.  It was all quite overwhelming, but she was a good sport to be sure.  By the time we made it to the corn maze, the girls were flat out falling apart.  In the middle of the maze we decided we needed out an NOW.  We started cutting through non marked areas and ended up getting scolded.  Seriously corn maze officer.  We are melting down.  Don't care about your corn maze rules.  GET US OUT OF HERE!

Later that night Grandpa Bob sat down and did some of Lily's favorite things, read "Cat in the Hat," and finger paint.  They had a blast just the two of them.

Before he left Grandpa Bob and Grandma Lynn also gave Lily her very first telescope.  Now Lily can see the stars and the moon even better!

Such a sweet time albeit short.  Can't wait to have Grandpa back soon and hopefully next time Grandma Lynn can come too!
