Happy ThankBirthMas!

What a great week we have had! This year we decided to head back to Colorado for the Thanksgiving weekend. I just love the mountains and it is always fun to take Lily and have family time in the hills! It was really a special time this year because we celebrated 3 celebrations in 4 days, Thanksgiving, Birthdays and Christmas. It was simply wonderful.

The three of us arrived Thanksgiving evening and had a feast waiting for us at home. What a great way to do Thanksgiving. We walked right into the dinner table, no waiting necessary.

Plus between Lily's twin cousins Mckenna and Kennleigh and Grandma Feddy, Lily Grace was completely occupied and taken care of so Bob and I could thoroughly enjoy our turkey, potatoes, yams, cranberry sauce, stuffing and PIE! MMMMMM. Of course, our little Al-Cute-ah kept us up practically the entire first night, so we were far from relaxed, but at least we were full!

This was the first year in 5 years that my cousin Chase and I got to celebrate our birthday's together. We have the same birthday just 3 years apart. Our birthdays fell on the dreaded Black Friday this year, but it didn't bother us one bit. It was actually a fantastic day and we enjoyed a wonderful family dinner at Red Lobster.

Complete with 2 ice cream cakes. My family is such a treasure. Sitting at our table looking over the crowd I was just really blessed to see how much we all love each other. It was also so neat to see how our families have expanded. Simply a wonderful time!

The next morning, Lily got to discover a new creature. CHICKENS! My Aunt Jayne has 6 chickens up at her house and they are all named after the characters in the book "The Help." She was fairly unsure about them and under no uncertain terms did she want to be out of my arms, but she sure looked them over and she looked so cute in her hat and jacket.

Sunday was our Christmas day and what a day it was. Every year we do a christmas exchange and take turns opening each others gifts. It really is a fun time. There is something special about sharing in each other's one present joy. Of course, Miss Lily got about 6 presents including clothes, nesting dolls and books. Thats what's nice about being a little person, everyone wants to give you a present!

On Monday Bob and I decided that we were going to head down to Denver to do a 21 mile training run. Me, aka Race Director, planned our route perfectly. It was an out and back course taking us through all of our favorite stomping grounds including running past our beloved CCU. What I did not take into account was the intense hills and the altitude. IT WAS BRUTAL!!! Once we were about 10 miles out everything started to hurt. At mile 12 the legs started to quit and it turned into an all out battle just to get back to our car. Both of us "broke," me at mile 15 and Bob at mile 18. It was rough. Once we did make it to the car, Bob made it very clear that the Race Director was going to be immediately fired. I was in full support!

The rest of our week was spent relaxing and taking care of the very busy Lily Grace. On Wednesday night I walked into the kitchen to see her sitting in the dishwasher unloading all of the silverware. She has mastered the art of climbing up stairs and on things, so I should have expected this, but it surprised me! She is getting so bold and ambitious. I better pay closer attention.

When she wasn't in the dishwasher, she LOVED the dog bed in the living room. She would crawl on that big square bed and we would hear her giggling as she threw herself around on it. Just adorable.

All in all, and exceptional ThankBirthMas!
