A Trip to the OBX!

Fall has arrived out here in North Carolina and I am absolutely thrilled. There is something so wonderful about having to put layers on instead of try to wear the fewest clothes possible. Wonderful. We got to enjoy the blast of Fall weather along the Outer Banks this weekend while Feddy and Kemo visited. Grandpa Kemo has been a pilot for years and years but has never been down to Kitty Hawk to see where aviation began.

Since Bob and I have been out here in North Carolina we really have ventured out very little. It's so easy to get comfortable and stay home instead of exploring this pretty cool state. Where else can you get ocean, mountains, wild horses, farming and lush forest. North Carolina really is an awesome state. So we packed up our jeep and headed off to the ocean.

The trip was long, but Lily did great. The Outer Banks are incredible and such an interesting piece of real estate. We pulled into our hotel (right on the beach) in the early afternoon, and then headed to the Black Pelican for lunch.

The whole town of Kitty Hawk is immersed in everything Wright Brothers. It really is pretty neat. After our yummy lunch we decided to let the baby nap and we took turns walking on the beach.

It was B.E.A.U.T.I.F.U.L! It was windy and chilly, but such a blast! Later that evening we headed out to Jennettes Pier and introduced Miss Lily to the ocean.

I was just sure that she would love the ocean and Bob was convinced she was going to fuss. Well, Bob was right. Miss Lily did NOT want her little toesies in the water. She did everything she could to keep her legs out of the ocean.

Some day she will love it, but not yet. She was much happier when her Daddy picked her up and walked her around.

We strolled along the 1000 foot pier, enjoying the sunset, ocean waves and brisk wind.

We topped off our evening with ice cream for dinner (YUM) and an early bed time. It's so nice having a little baby because you have an excuse to go to bed at 7PM!
