Attack of the Killer Pumpkins!

AAAAAAAAAAA run for your lives, the pumpkins are coming! Who would have thought that those orange balls could be so terrifying to Miss Lily? Here were Mom, Dad, Grandma Jill and Grandpa Steve sure that a trip to the pumpkin patch would be a fun filled experience and instead we thoroughly traumatized the little dear. Oh no.

Out here in North Carolina, the idea of a pumpkin patch gets turned into quite an ordeal. Every pumpkin patch is attached to a big country farm that offers a corn maze, tractors, hay rides, games and all manner of barnyard fun. Of course, Lily was very unimpressed with all of that so we stuck to the pumpkins. I must confess, that my main goal in taking her to the pumpkin patch was really to get some cute family photos to put on the blog. What we got was a bunch of tears, drama and terror. As long as she was in our arms or on our laps she was relatively content, but put her on or near the grass and pumpkins, oh boy.

It was wonderfully warm so I put her in overalls and barefeet. Wrong move. Poor Lily hates the grass and did everything in her power to keep her toesies away.

So our pumpkin excursion was a bit short lived. We headed out of the patch and caught some photo ops on the tractor and with the scare crow.

Grandma and Grandpa sure had a smile on their face even if Lily didn't! Hopefully next year we will have a great time and Lily will be much happier about the pumpkins.

The visit from Grandma and Grandpa Hill was short but wonderful. Lily got to spend an entire evening with Grandma and Grandpa while Bob and I got a much needed date night.

It was such a blessing to be able to go out for a nice (sit down, glass of wine, dessert nice!) dinner together. We of course had to hit up Coffee and Crepes a couple of times, and take a run around the famous Lake Johnson too.

She got to sit in the big girl seat in the parking lot one day and got so excited about being a big girl so for Lily's b-day Grandma and Grandpa got her......a new carseat! Lucky girl!
