Lily has totally taken on her own little persona and has become a full fledged person! And she is BUSY! She is constantly moving somewhere, pulling on something, banging on the other thing, turning around, digging in Mom's purse, pulling out everything from everywhere and opening everything that opens.
Lately she has discovered 1) The Laundry and 2) The DVD Shelf. What a helper. I fold the laundry and pile it in the basket, she takes it out of the basket and unfolds it. It really is a great system. It takes us twice as long to get laundry done and I inevitably end up with baby spit up or throw up on one of the folded, unfolded clean items. The DVD Shelf is another area of wonder for Miss Lily. You see once you take one out, the rest of the DVD's just naturally follow until you are literally lost in a sea of DVD's. SO COOL! Of course how they get back in their neat and tidy row is lost on her and we usually end up with DVD's literally across the living room. She pushes them, shakes them, bangs on them, chews on them and crawls over them. Poor Bob has had to give up on keeping the bottom row of DVD's alphabetized. I just don't have the heart to tell him that as she gets bigger, the bottom shelf is not going to be the only row out of sorts.
As her mobility improves she is discovering that she can mount any obstacle, conquer any roadblock and push through any pillows, blankets, toys, stools, or rugs that Mom and Dad place in her way. She will not be deterred! I think her favorite mountain to conquer is our fluffy doggie. Mount Rocky!
He loves to lay right in the hallway between her bedroom and ours. If I put her in her room on the floor to play he actually creates a nice barrier so that I can get stuff done without too much worry about where the little one is headed. Well that was then, and this is now. No longer is he an effective guard. She just pulls, climbs, punches, kicks, pushes and stretches until she has conquered the fluffy beast. Once conquered she finds his collar and desperately pulls. You can just hear her, "Come on doggie, lets go this way."
When the 100 pounds of dog doesn't move an inch, she gives up and just sits next to him. So cute.
She just adores Rocky and we are loving watching her grow!
