ALASKA, 20 years in the making happened in May.
Our journey started in Seattle. Memaw, Papa, and the 4 of us headed out on our journey to Seattle.
We arrived in Seattle with time to spare so we decided to head to the Flight Museum that DID NOT disappoint.
The museum not only had basically aircraft since the Wright Brothers, but it also had the original boeing building! The Red Barn.
Not only was there a massive indoor museum, but they had an entire aircraft yard with a B-17 (Papa's bomber) and a full fledged 747-400. It was so much fun to watch Papa relive all of his flying history especially with the girls.
PAUSE.....read that story right up above. It will blow your mind!
After the flight museum we toodled down to the wharf to see some of Seattle. We had dinner and then found ourselves down by the water.
Early the next morning we connected with my Brother and his family for breakfast and to head to our CRUISE!
YES, we all had matching sweatshirts for Memaw and Papa's 50th anniversary. So fun!
While the rest of us headed to pack and get ready the three guys rented scooters to do a quick tour of the Public Market and downtown Seattle!
Then it was time to board the boat! The cruise terminal was CA RAZY, but fairly efficient and soon we were all checked in with our Princess badges and ready to land on board.
We made it onto the boat and into our adjoining balcony rooms in quick order! Now time to party!
Let me just say, I fell in love with cruising immediately. Once on board its like all of your stress goes right out the window, your thirsty.....theres a bar.....hungry......12 places to grab and go........want something do do.....you have like 8 levels of choices.
Knowing this was most likely our only day for sunshine we took full advantage of the Sail away party and swam and did handstands on the deck. Many more layers had to be added following this afternoon.
As you can tell, the temp went from swimsuit weather to layers weather very quickly, but we were headed to ALASKA!
