Confidence

It is a beautiful time to be alive, and its an amazing time to be a parent.  Raising kids right now may seem terrifying to some, but to me it is the most exciting thing ever.  We have an amazing opportunity to raise up a new generation of kids, and especially women who are bold, brave, supremely confident, and undeniably convinced of their purpose in the world.  THAT is an amazing thing.

These 4 girls have become much like sisters this year as we have worked together to get homework done, do science projects, and find successes in each of our grades. I am so grateful for their presence in our lives and vica versa.  I believe in these girls.

A few weekends ago I took these girls to a hotel for a girls weekend.  Me and Vicki really wanted to spend some quality time with the big girls talking about all things body image.  Confidence and clarity about your body starts early, and its time.  These girls are moving towards puberty!

Of course, lets be honest, we all really just wanted to play in the hotel pool.  We played and played and a couple of us even found our ability to swim without pool floaties!  Go Kayla and Faith!  Sometimes confidence is all about finding someone who believes you CAN.  I BELIEVE!

Bob came to pick the littles up and the 4 of us big girls had a fantastic night talking about boobs, periods, boys, sex, bodies, and babies. YES, we are already talking about all of these things.....without fear, without trepidation, and with the knowledge that God designed our bodies to be amazing. Knowledge is power, and education breeds confidence.  I LOVE the opportunity that I have to pour wisdom into these girls and am more convinced than ever that the power to change the world resides in the ability to walk into these conversations with confidence.
