Weatherly Weekend!

The past couple of months have been a whirlwind of visitors and new baby adventures. I was a bit bummed that we couldn't go anywhere over the holidays, but the family that came to visit really made the times special. This past weekend we had our dear Arizona friends Matt and Tara come for a visit. Actually it was more about meeting Lily, but we had a really great time. Since they were using the weekend as a a much needed getaway the entire time was laid back and chill. They got in last Thursday evening and spent the night playing with the baby.

On Friday Bob had to go to work for a few hours and then he and Matt headed off to do their favorite thing....GOLF! Both of the guys got to know each other on the golf course so it was fitting for them to have a day of golf.

While they played Tara and I stayed home, but Bob wanted me to be sure that I told some stories about the golf course. First off, both of the guys said that it was one of the most enjoyable courses that they have ever played and they got the whole course to themselves.

On hole number one Bob had a long putt to the hole. Matt, being a smart aleck, dropped a ball in the same spot to show Bob "how it's done." He hit the ball as more of a joke than anything and managed to sink the 50 foot putt. That started a great day of golf. There were enormous sand traps and some of them had major walls that require some talented shots to get out of.

There were also several dunes that blocked the green and it took a 14 foot pole to get an idea where the green was.

Just from the pictures it looked like a really fun and challenging course, very unique. Matt commented that it would have been beautiful with all of the trees but then pointed out that the ball wouldnn't go through them as well.

Saturday morning was Bob and my long run morning so we tucked Lily in and headed to the Tabacco Trail. Bob successfully pushed Lily for 14 long miles while Rocky and I did a respectable 6. Bob was exhausted after the miles and pushing the baby. I keep telling him that if he keeps pushing her during his training runs, his marathon will be super easy. Of course, its all relative! Matt called us both crazy and decided he and Tara were going to enjoy sleep instead. Once we were done we took our starving selves to Coffee and Crepes where we all enjoyed a great breakfast/lunch. Lily snuggled with Tara the whole time. So cute.

Tara and I had a blast the rest of the afternoon doing what we do best...SHOP! We started with a movie and then headed to find the sales. We ended up having a great time and finding fantastic date night dresses at cheap prices. It is funny what happens when you have a baby and enter mommy mode. Getting dressed up takes on a whole new meaning, ie. what is going to be the easiest to nurse in and the best to cover the left over pregnant chub. Tara dared me to buy this little cocktail dress and I took her up on it. I am so glad she did because we both took a break from mommy comfort and got our groove back for a night with our men. We all headed out to Bonefish Grill and had a wonderful time.

I enjoyed a couple of raspberry martinis (delicious!) and Tara had this awesome martini that was served with a glow stick in it (no joke!).

I think the best part of the night is that we ended up not having childcare (yeah that is a whole new dimension to our life), so our little girl got stuck underneath the table. No one knew she was there either. She fussed a bit but slept soundly the whole time.

Bob and I realized that we won't be able to conceal her under our table for much longer. Tara and I had a blast getting all dressed up for our hubbies and loved the time together as couples.

Here is the proof that mommies can be comfortable and sexy!
