Thank you for your Service

We had such a special opportunity this Veterans Day to see my Dad along with several other Vietnam Veterans play a key role in the East Valley Veterans Day Parade.

This is our first year taking the time to attend the parade and I am SO GLAD we did.  The entire thing is a spectacle from start to finish.  Not only are there amazing floats in the parade, but all branches of the forces are represented, there are military vehicles on display and several flyovers.  It truly is a sight to behold.

This years parade was all about remembering and honoring Vietnam War Veterans.  My Uncle Rob had some connections to the parade organizers and submitted my Dad's name for Air Force Marshal.  It was so incredible to watch him get to be a part of this group of men and women leading the parade.  Because Dad was VIP all of us got to experience the special treatment and meet first hand all of these veterans.  It was such a joy and a wonderful opportunity to say a special thank you.

Uncle Rob and my Cousin Chelsea carried Dad's banner down the parade route and we all loved seeing Captain Ross "Kemo" Eckel in his element.

Following the parade we all went for a mid day treat at the Toasted Mallow a marshmallow inspired ice cream and dessert shop in Gilbert.  It was delicious and a total sugar rush!

Deeply grateful for the service members who did the hard things so that I don't have to.  Its a gift not lost on me and it was a wonderful opportunity to celebrate Papa and see an amazing parade!
