13
She's 13 guys. Lily Grace Longmire is a teenager. And such a beautiful young woman. So fun, so spicy, so lovely, and just so mighty. We joke often in our home that maybe Lily should be in charge. Sometimes she runs the world better than we do.
She is thriving in Junior High these days coming home with As in all of her classes, making friends with the janitors, owning her own voice, and firmly rooted in her faith and in her refusal to get caught up in all the "boy nonsense." In her words she "loves, love," but is committed to her single-live-in-a-studio-apartment-with-a-dog-and-no-husband dream. I love it. She is bold, confident, quirky, outspoken, and can always be found with a book in her hands.
She's got load of friends and some extra special ones. This year she joined the Musical Theatre class and is completely enamored with music, theatre, and musical theatre. Won't lie Im not NOT happy about this! She and I will be heading to New York City next May for a trip of a lifetime with her class. I know she's excited, but I CANNOT WAIT to share it with her.
Memaw made Lily a beautiful handmade quilt. It was such a labor of love and Lily quickly put it on her bed. Such a gift for a special kid.
Lily is the kind of girl you want to have around, while still a fun kid, she has a maturity that makes a Momma proud. This kid feels, this kid cares, and this kid is gonna make a difference.
I love you so much and I am enjoying watching you grow, stretch, and find your voice. Praying your teenage years are the best yet. Your heart is so beautiful lovely girl and the Light of Jesus shines so brightly in you. Walk in light, truth, and grace babe. Keep being you because you, dear girl, are magic.
Love you
Mom
