Thanksgiving 2023-The Dog one

We headed up to the Mountains for Thanksgiving with Memaw and Papa.  It was a great weekend.  When I looked back on all of our pictures it was full of puppies!  Goodness, the focus has shifted.

I am learning the value of being present and not having to take pictures all the time.  Its a gift and I am enjoying the time of intentional presence and letting others take the photos.  Even if it is mostly of furry creatures.

41

This is 41.

Stronger than I have ever been physically, spiritually, and emotionally.

More at home in my body than ever before.  No longer caring about the weight on the scale.....

Just caring about the weight on my bar.

Having friends who are crazy, and wonderful, and strong, and committed, and willing to wear crazy colors on your birthday simply because they love you.

41 is amazing and life just keeps getting better.  So excited to move into my YTT 300 hour training and see where this life takes me.

Lily does Flat Iron!

This year, Lily found an all around BFF.  Madi is one of those amazing humans that comes into your life just helps you understand how awesome a real friend is.  These two are amazing.  Doesn't hurt that Madi's Mom is as amazing, a fellow crossfitter, and always up for crazy adventures.

The Day of our Crossfit competition, the girls cooked up a day after hike up to Flat Iron.  I knew I was going to be tired from the competition, but I won't be the one to rain on a Mother Daughter hike!

This hike is a DOOZY.  The first mile and a half is fairly boring, but then all of a sudden you hit Siphon Draw and the trail turns straight up.

For the next mile its an all out crawl up the mountain, climbing boulders, scaling rock walls, and navigating a very rocky trail.  Its amazing, challenging, and the 4 of us crushed it.

There is no lack of views from the top of the flat iron.

The four of us carefully navigated down the steep terrain back to Siphon Draw on very wobbly legs.

The sense of accomplishment I got to see in this kid was spectacular.  Lily is amazing and the experience was truly one for the books.  Grand Canyon might be the next big hill.
