Costa Rica 2023: The Adventure Begins

Okay its time!  What a summer it has been and as it is coming to a close I cannot forget to remember the memories!

This year we decided to take an amazing trip to Costa Rica with our dear friends Melissa, Jeff, Erienne, and Nathan Allen.  We have wanted to go to Costa Rica for a while now and I was so excited to discover that one of my friends from CO now owns a home in the moutains of Manuel Antonio Costa Rica.

What a blast we had.

The trip to San Jose was  long day with a 4 hour layover, but we made the best of it with yoga, snacks, and lots of exploring.

Once arriving in the small San Jose airport, we headed out to the garage to await our ride to the rental car spot.  We were all tired and hungry, but man were we all excited to be on our adventure!

We finally made it to our dinner spot, had fresh Bebidas, and started to learn how to communicate by ordering our first traditional meal of Arroz con Pollo with a side of frijoles!  YUM.

We finished our dinner and took all of our exhausted selves to our tiny little boutique hotel for a quick sleep before heading to the mountains.

Our first morning in Costa Rica we spent enjoying the morning, the pool, and a lovely local breakfast on the open air porch.

We loaded up in our van and headed out on our 2.5 hour road trip through the countryside to get to the little mountain town of Manual Antonio.  One of our rest stops was in Jaco, a lovely tourist town on a little cove.  It was beautiful and exquisitely spectacular.

Driving through the country was such an adventure and we took this little road right of the main road through the forest to reach our mountain digs.

We all found the pool really fast and then decided to head to Manuel Antonio for some dinner and to find the local grocery store.

Evie found kittens and we stopped at an amazing restaurant for drinks, dinner, and delicious dessert.

Our first night at home was filled with fun, a few shots, and meeting another local neighbor who decided our towels and kids were so fun to be around.
