Lily is completely in love with this synchronized swimming thing. Bob and I have always known that she is a fish. I honestly believe that she can breathe underwater. Synchronized swimming fits her personality so perfectly and it has been so much fun to watch her flourish.
Last month she and her team took part in the Cactus Classic Invitational here in the valley and it was an all day affair. She started the morning with a figure meet where she has to do synchronized moves all by herself in front of a panel of judges. She handles it with absolute ease and it is so much fun to watch her.
Let me be perfectly clear. Synchro is HARD. It may look easy, but it is incredibly difficult to hold your body in all of these positions, in water, while not breathing, and treading water. It is a truly impressive sport.
We had a huge break in the day before team competitions. Lily and her team spent time getting ready and practicing "dry land."
Evie, Bob, and I couldn't wait until it was her turn. She looks so confident and poised with her team.
Their routine was beautiful and they did such a great job. 2 minutes of treading, dancing, smiling, and staying with each other. Its truly impressive.
I am so excited for our next competition in Tucson in a couple of weeks!
