Volleyball Chick

December has been chock full of all the things.  I keep writing "Blog" on my to do list, and I keep getting to 9 at night with it not crossed off.  Our days are full.  Its good and merry, but sometimes just too darn packed.  Never the less, so many wonderful things have been happening for us.

First off, Lily Lou participated in her first ever Synchro Figure Meet.  This type of meet is different than a performance meet because it is an individual meet where you are judged on specific "figures" that you make in the water.  You move through a series of 5 locations where a panel of 5 judges evaluates you on a single move in the water.  I won't lie its kind of intense.  Lily crushed it and felt so successful.

In true Longmire fashion her volleyball tournament and her synchro meet fell on the same day because of course it did, so after 2 hours in the pool, we fueled up at Dutch Bros, and then headed to her volleyball tournament.

Lily tried volleyball for the first time this year and LOVED it.  She improved SO much from the first week of practices and games.  Her entire team was coached by the fabulous Melissa Allen, and Lily had one of her best friends on the team, Erienne.

This bunch of kids truly has been so much fun to watch play and learn this game.

We had to play best out of 3 games to win the tournament.  The girls won their first game handily!

It was so much fun to see their joy as they sent over the winning hit for the first game.  I put my camera down after that because I wanted to be present.

Alas, they worked so hard, but lost the next two game (by like 2 points).  It was a hard defeat, but so many wonderful lessons were learned, and everyone got cookies and a medal, so everyone went home excited about the next season.

Bob and I really hope that she sticks with Vball.  Its another perfect sport for her.  We are looking forward to screaming from the stands for many more years!
