Adventure at the Southseas

We just got back from our 2 week vacation  and man did we hit the ground running.  Our homeschooling time has (most likely....I mean its 2020) come to an end and we got home and our kids headed back to the classroom.

I am SO glad that we decided to take this time to go and visit Grandma and Grandpa in Florida and then Uncle Mike and Aunt Kathy in Texas.  We made so many memories and its going to take some time for me to get all of the blogs out....but hey...looks like I might get some time back.

We got into Florida super late and after the drive from the Tampa airport arrived at Gma and Gpa's condo around 2am.  Travelling with the kids is amazing.  They are such troopers and LOVE flying.

The next morning we hit the ground running by loading up all of our stuff and heading out to Captiva Island and the Southseas Resort.  Grandma and Grandpa never disappoint and this trip was no exception.

They rented us our own private golf cart for the weekend and our condo was right on the tip of the island overlooking the ocean on one side and the golf course on the other.  Best part? Girls got their very own room complete with twin beds and a TV and their own bathroom.  Amazing.

Our little spot in Seabreeze was beautiful!  And we made quick work to get ourselves down to the pool and slide.

Ill tell you, my kids cannot be around water without getting in.  Little fish.

We left the pool only to drive a bit down the road and find ourselves in the ocean.

I watched the stuff and practiced my handstands while the crew walked down the beach shelling and looking for treasures.

Their efforts did not disappoint because Lily discovered this dear departed friend and he is beautiful.  His name is Spike and I am hoping to figure out a perfect way to memorialize him.  I keep posted on what I do.

Our first dinner was on the beach at The Mucky Duck.  Im just gonna say it.....Coconut Shrimp.  So dang good.  The girls played the ring toss game and soundly beat Grandpa while the rest of us enjoyed the beach life.

Grandma and Grandpa gave us not only 1 but two date nights on the island and we did not miss the opportunity.  Our first night we went to Doc Ford's.  I literally had a hamburger that was life changing and the musician playing touched all of the heartstrings.  Bob and I sat and ate and drank our Rum Flight and just had the best evening.

Our other date night happened to be at one of my all time favorite Captiva places, The Key Lime Bistro.  For those of us that love Key Lime Pie it is everything that it sounds.  Pie for dinner anyone?  Me, Me, ME!

Our 3 days out on the island were memorable in every way from parasailing, to golf, to tennis, to shelling, to playing frisbee, chasing waves, and finding jellies on the sand.  A wonderful start to our time!
