We knew it, but Niagra was a whirlwind tour and it wasn't long before we were up, packed, and headed back to the airport to make our way to Disney World. Spending every moment we could in the presence of the mighty falls was important so we got ourselves up and out the door for a 5 mile run along the river. This was a little cove we popped into. That cloudy brightness you see? The ledge of the falls. The water RUSHES over the Falls and it is humbling and a bit nerve wracking to stand anywhere close to the edge of the water without a fence!
We soaked up every last second and then found ourselves back in Buffalo and headed to Florida!
We arrived in Florida and were greeted with the beauty and fun of The Grand Floridian. Lily, Grandma, and Grandpa were out at Epcot so Bob and I whooped it up date night style!
After enjoying a fabulous dinner complete with the best almond wrapped cheesecake, we decided to ride the Monorail and check out the other resorts on its route. So much fun, and frankly, any time spent around Disney World makes me happy. By the time we got back to our room, the 3 travelers were back and we were reunited with our Lily and settled in to watch the Magic Kingdom fireworks from our balcony. Grandma Lynn doesn't mess around!
After a quick sleep, we all got up and dressed ready to take on The Animal Kingdom. Lily and I couldn't wait to ride a Banshee again in the land of Pandora. We had our shirts from our first experiences and were so excited to introduce Daddy to the whole experience. SIVAKO! Na'vi for "Rise to the Challenge!" is the call that beckons you towards the Flight of Passage. There is just nothing quite like riding a Banshee. It's an experience, and one Lily and I couldn't wait to share!
We all successfully rose to the challenge and became honorary Avatars for the morning!
We spent our final day in Florida enjoying just as much as we could at the Animal Kingdom. We rode the rapids, ate at Tiffins, watched the Festival of the Lion King, lived a bug's life, traveled through dino land, and soaked up all the Disney wonder we could.
We did all that we could until the inevitable end of the day and a host of goodbyes began. Vacation must end and we brought our sun kissed, tear stained Lily Lu home. Its hard to leave!
Our flights were late and long, and although she swore she was going to "stay up all night" with us, Lily surrendered to the tired and slept nearly the whole way home. There's nothing quite like being a kid and the trip was a smashing success!
