Do Life

I am convinced now more than ever how important, powerful and necessary community is.  Finding individuals and families with whom you can really do life with is the ingredient that makes life sweet.  Relationship is a beautiful, inspiring, life changing and empowering thing.

As I get older and older I am also brought to the realization that not all people who come into your life stay forever.  I believe without question that the Lord brings people into and out of your life to help you grow and help you live well in whatever season of life you are in.  As you change and move and experience life,  you meet new faces and enter new stories.  Its a beautiful thing.

Bob and I are not new to making new friends and finding our community of life doers.  We have friends in North Carolina, and many in Colorado.  We have extended relationships in California, Illinois, Florida, Ohio, Iowa, Oklahoma, Washington and Texas too.  We aren't super close to many, but we have a life rich with relationships.  All of them have mattered.......all of them still matter.

We have many friends from all walks of life out here in AZ.  This year the Lord brought us into this bunch of people above and we are so grateful.  I met Melissa and Jamie through a local MOPS and after parting ways we decided that we might actually make really good friends and started a little weekly breakfast group. Lindsay was an easy and perfect addition to us and now this bunch has moved firmly into our lives and are some of the amazing people we get to do life with.

I said earlier that people move in and out.  Jamie and Josh (the couple in the middle) have had the call of the missionary and left us a couple weeks ago for Guatemala and then to the Dominican. Their community is about to get a whole lot bigger and their life doers will be changing, yet we will still forever be a part of their story and they a part in ours.

That's something special and I daresay, that is Gospel living.  Jesus was all about doing life with each other and walking into the lives of others with intentional purpose and grace.  Each new chapter of life brings with it new community and new life doers. Treasure those you do life with now and embrace the new ones that dare to be a part of your story.
