It's Evie's Turn!

A year ago Evie cried herself home after we dropped Lily off for school.  She wanted to go.  Oh how desperately she wanted to stay and go to school.  I hugged her and told her, "Evie, it's not your turn yet.  Next year you will get to go!"  Well, today was that day.  Today was Evie's turn to embark on the school journey and let me tell you.  This fearless wonder was READY!

Evie has been beside herself for the past week as Lily has started school and she has had to wait for her first day.  Every day she has been giddy with anticipation, "Is it my turn yet??"  When this week started and we got to go meet her teacher Evie's anticipation turned into pure excited joy.  She now has her own classroom and her own teacher and her own cubby.  Evie is a preschooler!

Bob and I smiled so big.  For 3 hours a day during the weeks we are empty nesters!  HOLLA!!!!!  We dropped off our littlest giant this morning and she practically ran into her classroom.  No tears, no fear, just pure boldness and all Evie.  Bob and I walked hand in hand out to our car, got in, looked at each other giggled.....we did it.  We got two babies to school.

Its not at all a sad time for us. Even though we are faced with the reality that we are exiting the baby stage and entering a stage of blossoming independence, we don't feel sad.  We love it. We love everything about it.  Every time our girls boldly move into the world around them we leap for joy.  We are raising them right.

Evie's off to school, Today was her day.....

Adventure is waiting........she's off on her way!
