On the Sandy Shore

Whew! What a weekend it has been. We seriously packed everything possible into the 3 day window of time. Busy, busy, busy. Our Lifemax team has been in a heated promotion and Grace and I were determined to win so we went all out hosting in home events in our little house. We started on Friday evening by hosting the NCSU Club Cross Country Team. We were able to get the entire team (11) people to come hear about a health food and business opp by promising dinner. Yeah, we didn't think that through really well. They literally ate us out of house and home. 2 boxes of spaghetti, 2 pounds of hamburger, 3 loaves of bread and a HUGE salad, oh yeah and 5 dozen cookies. Made me remember why I don't want a house full of boys.

The following morning was the Krispy Kreme Challenge so we were up and out early. After donuts, naps, a 5 minute break and a shower, we started dinner again for some friends that were coming to our second in home of the weekend. We had another bunch of friends over to hear about the AMAZING business of Lifemax and finished the evening with a big batch of corn chowder. Sunday brought 2 hours of church, grocery shopping (to restock on the depleted supplies) and of course, The SUPER BOWL. We hosted some friends over and had another big spread of food. Holy Moley what a weekend.

All of that to say that I kept telling myself all weekend, "don't forget Lily turns 15 months on Monday, you gotta blog." I even woke up in the middle of the night last night thinking about it. With may lapse in memory last month I just didn't want it to happen again!

Lily is a budding, busy and absolutely precious little girl. Her smile is simply contagious and her curiosity is simply a joy to watch. She is so smart! The other day we met a friend an walked around Lake Johnson.

After we made it around we decided to head over to the beach and let the little girls explore the sandy beach and the ducks. Lake Johnson has a host of geese, swan and ducks that literally have no fear of humans, so Lily got to discover first hand what a duck says. She lit up as she went "ca, ca, ca" all along the shore.

Having a little girl is such a treasure and each experience is so incredible. I found myself simply in awe watching her stick her toesies in the water and squeal in delight when the ducks quacked. Pure bliss....

Her big word of the month is "Gow" and it kind of comes out like "cow" with a g. We still have been completely unable to pinpoint exactly what she means by it, but she uses it constantly. She gets her little pointer out and says "Gow." This is of course after she has signed "more," "please," "all done," and screamed too. If only I had a sign for "gow" that knew what she meant. I have been so proud of her because she has really picked up on the sign language. I am hoping that by using her little hands to communicate we might dodge a few melt downs. We will see.
