NC Cousin Time

It may look different, but travelling right now is actually quite fun.  Its different and we all have to wear our masks.  People do everything to avoid you, and you don't get much service on the airplane, but seriously it is so much fun to travel right now.

Aunt Darcie asked us if we would be willing to come out to North Carolina for a trip to the beach and I am so very glad that we did.  The trip came at the perfect time for us and was a wonderful distraction from the Arizona heat and quarantine.

We had to ride 2 planes with a long layover between.  Evie was so excited for the last leg of the journey that she asked if she could speak on the intercom.  "Welcome aboard!"

All of these cousins were so excited to see each other.  Evie and Jess are special buds, but there is no doubt that all of these kids miss not being closer to one another.  I am really proud of our families for always making this picture an annual thing!

Plus it was so wonderful to see Grandma again with only a handful of her grandkids.  This lady is a special one and all of these kids love her.

After a day in Charlotte we headed down for our 4 day stay at Kure Beach.  I have a whole other blog for those adventures, but needless to say it was absolutely perfect!

When we got back from the beach we spent our last day at the berry farm.

It was hot and humid but we had a great time picking blueberries, blackberries, and sunflowers.  I may have gone a bit overboard on my picking, but like my Momma taught me, "we have to have enough for pie and cobbler!"

So there is an amazing coffee shop and ice cream shop within a small walk from the house and we were regulars.  The kids were super excited for ice cream night and even the COVID measures didn't steal their joy.

Of course, Uncle Bob made quick work of doing science experiments and Elephant toothpaste turned into a full blown foam fight.  We weren't able to make it as grand as the you tube video due to lack of the right hydrogen peroxide, but fun was definitely had.

As always, our time in NC went by all too fast, but we are so happy we make it happen.  Memories are always worth the making!
