Our second day in NYC started with a trip on the Staten Island Ferry!
Turns out I am not nearly as impressive as the Statue of Liberty.....Who knew??
We rounded the Statue of Liberty and then made our way to the dock of Ellis Island. Lily and I had never been there before and it was such an experience. To walk in the spaces of the first immigrants who made their way over from across the pond. It was humbling. So many of our ancestors came this way. Pretty cool.
We made a stop at Trinity Church where the infamous Alexander Hamilton is laid to rest.
And then found ourselves at the World Trade Center and the 9/11 Memorial.
I was grateful for our short time at the memorial. So many memories pop up. It truly was a day we all will not soon forget. The memorial is beautiful and impactful. Lily was moved, surprised and shocked.
This is the 9/11 train depot. Its gorgeous and was built as a testament to our resilience. Right on the Trade Center grounds.
Then we went to the museum of Broadway........SO COOL!
We closed our night with a trip to the top of the Empire State Building!
The view does not disappoint! We all rolled into bed at about 11 ready to be up and at it again in the morning!
