Raidho takes Skateland

I LOVE Crossfit Raidho!  Not only because of the changes I have seen in m body and the fun I have lifting weights, but because we get to do fun outings like this one!

Skateland Mesa for a night of roller skating!  I took our girls and we had a BLAST.  The general concensus is that we all now want our own roller skates!

From the moment we walked in the entire experience was like stepping back in time.  From the smells to the music and the whole experience!

One of the most brilliant things that is now standard is wrist guards!  I mean, so smart.  We all had an amazing time and we cannot wait to go back!

In Synch....ro

Lily had her very first synchro competition a couple of weeks ago. She has been working wo hard and her team is ready to go.  I am so amazed at her heart and commitment to this sport.  The amount of strength it takes to swim, tread water, dance, and smile while doing it is impressive. I am excited to see where it takes her.

Lily, Keagan, Rose, and Jaalyn make up the youth team and there routine is set to 50s music!  These four girls are amazing and working so hard to learn a host of challenging figures and routines.

This kid spends ALL DAY poolside on competition weekends, but she loves it and we are all excited to watch her do what she loves this season!

A LUV (Sac) Story

Once upon a time there was a beautiful Mother who would wake up every morning at 4am.  Through the haze of exhaustion and the desire to wake up, she would take her energetic puppy on a walk through the neighborhood.

One of these mornings, as she was walking down the street she saw an enormously big, extra large, monstrous bean bag luv sac sitting in front of a neighbors house. As she saw it she prayed....out loud.

"Lord, I bet that is free on the side of the road. Please don't let my husband or my kids find this else it will be in our house.  Please let someone else find it and take it home. "

She went home and did her best to forget about it and not go down that direction.  The day went on and the evening came quickly and no one saw that bean bag.  Oh she was sure that the bean bag was gone, never to be thought of again.

At 5 o clock the kids and their Dad left to get pizza, and the Momma settled down for a moment of quiet.  As soon as she sat down her husband burst through the door.

"Babe, you will never guess what we found!" Without hesitation, she knew. SHE KNEW.

She instantly responded, "Is it that big monstrous bean bag down the street?"

"HOW DID YOU KNOW?!"

So the bean bag that she prayed would never end up in her house, is in her house.  Even her plans to accidentally have it stolen were thwarted when her trusty furry friend claimed it and loved it.

Im not sure what the moral of the story is, but I do know I just made some memories.  I will never EVER forget the ginormous free bean bag and the family that loved it.

A Concerto in A

So Evie decided to try out the cello this year.  Its so cute because it is seriously as big as she is.  Music is such an important part of my life and I love that my girls are trying all sorts of music options.  Since switching schools Evie has had to quickly adjust to a new orchestra and had only about 4 practices before their very first concert.

The afternoon of the concert we asked Bee if she was ready, and her answer was, "Well I don't know any of the songs, but I really just play the A string in most of them. I'm gonna rock it Mom."

There is nothing more important in parenting than just showing up.

Her concert was perfect and she played that A string with all the confidence in her little body.  She's amazing.  While the cello may not stick, her love for music is there and growing.

An Age Group Victory

I am constantly amazed at my husband.  When I met him he was avidly pursuing youth ministry.  His heart for young kids is truly amazing.  That was seen last month when he paced Jared to a 2nd place age group finish at the Mesa Half Marathon.

Last year Jared almost got on the podium and this year Bob was determined to make it happen for him.  They trained every Saturday for a couple of months and even after Bob nearly broke his toe and had to go no running for a while, he still rode his bike next to Jared to help him stay on track.

The morning of the race I dropped all of the runners at the start and then made it to the finish line.  I tracked them for their entire run. Bob and Jared held a near 6:45 pace (thats fast) for the entire race.  Bob let Jared push ahead of him around mile 9, but he successfully managed to get him across that line for their goal time of a sub 1:30.

Jared came flying across at 1:29 and Bob soon after at 1:32.  Amazing.  But what I love most is the commraderie they had, the goal they set, and the victory they achieved.

Jared's finish time was enough to get him a 2nd place age group win.  Absolutely amazing.

I had a blast following some of the other amazing runners that I know as they crossed the line. The running community is pure awesomeness and the people we know are just cool.  Jared's Dad Joe came in a few minutes later and of course the infamous Bev and Cindy duo!

So exciting to see what Jared is gonna do with his fast feet!  Proud of the guys for making this dream a reality!
