Bold Bee

This little girl is ALL THE THINGS.  A few months ago she asked me if she could shave her head on one side.  I told her that I wanted her to think about it for a while.  She did, but in a word, this little girl is absolutely RELENTLESS.  So we got an appointment with someone who I completely trusted to do the job waited......and then made it happen.

When it was done it was almost magical.  I have never seen a haircut so perfectly match the personality.  I mean, that's Evie.  Bold, big, daring, and just spice.  I love it.  I love that she is unafraid, I love that she is willing to roll against the norm.  I love it.  Like the sign on her wall,

Perfect is boring.

Evie, you are a challenge, you are a joy, you have brought me to my knees more than once.  I am so grateful for you, and your boldness, and your RELENTLESS spirit that just doesn't quit.  Its big and brave and full of courage.   Keep finding your way, living boldly with Jesus as your guide, and finding new ways to break the mold.  You were never made for a box little girl.

Keep doing you......because you are amazing!

Colorado

Colorado was a huge trip for me.  With 2 weddings and 13 family sessions I was a busy lady.  I love my Colorado trips and was so grateful for the time.

When not taking pictures I was at the Crossfit Gym or doing yoga.

I got to reconnect with a couple of friends and it was especially fun to see Amanda and be a part of her journey.  She is now an IRONMAN and down 100 pounds.  Amazing.

Colorado is a special place and will always be a sweet spot in my heart  Till next time mountains.

Boondockin'!

So when I was in Colorado for a massive photography trip, Bob took the girls on a camping trip with some of their best friends and fellow Dads.

They all had their first total boondocking experience and apparently it was quite the memory.

They found a remote spot, built homemade fires, set up tents and figured out how to do all the things in the woods.

Ellie had a great time and fully wished she didn't have to be tied up.

All of these friends have such a great time together and even though the camping trip was full of mosquitos and bugs they made some great memories.

Lily caught a frog.  She is desperately trying to get me to let her have a bearded dragon or a frog for a pet.

Such a fun time for all of them!

So Long Sweet Neighbors

7 years ago we pulled up into our home on Ravine excited and ready to start a new chapter of our lives.
We had left behind friends in Colorado anxiously hoping for new faces and connections in the Valley. Within a couple of days Kim and Lucas found us.  Neighbors two houses down from us and we became fast friends.  There is something so special about that first friend you make in a new place.  It sticks with you.

This summer it was time for  them to move onto a new chapter in their lives and head to Minnesota.  Man I had mixed feelings.  Mostly excited for them, but sad.  Life moves, and changes, and time is a sneaky thief.  I am grateful for every dinner, yoga class, run, patio play date, date night, and run in.  We love the Kocaks and pray amazing things for them!
