GGRX-Team Over 40, UNDERESTIMATED!

I don't compete a lot with crossfit, but I LOVE the GGRX competition my gym hosts every year.  Its a women only competition and this year it was 2 woman team style.  My girl Aindrea and I took it on and it was big because we decided to go RX, top division stuff.

We both had to work hard to develop some additional strength to master some of the movements of the division.  A 95# Overhead Squat for one.  I put in a bunch of additional time to get my overhead strength bolstered.

In my Clean/Front Squat complex I was targeting a stretch goal of 165#.  Not only did I crush that, but went on to complete 170#.  That was super cool.

The whole family came in and out throughout the day to cheer me on.  We had 4 workouts to complete and each one was a challenge.

I won't lie though, being on the competition floor with all of these incredible women is what its all about.

And these front squats, all 90 of them, will live in infamy!

Aindrea and I gave it all we had and pulled into the 4th place spot out of 9 teams.  I was so proud of us and look forward to the next opportunity to do it again!

The Moulin Rouge

Bob and I had the immense opportunity to see Moulin Rouge several years ago on Broadway when a friend of ours was starring in it.  Lily has wanted to see it ever since our trip to NYC 2 years ago.  This year it came to Gammage down at ASU and my girlfriend Bridgit got us the sweetest tickets.  So the 6 of us got to experience the Red Lights District.

The music, the story, the stage......the dancing.  Its all amazing and we had an absolute blast together!  Looking forward to more shows together in the future!

5am leaves the group chat

The 5am gym crew is made up of some of the best people around and every now and then an idea makes it out of the group chat. Becky suggested a float down the river instead of 5am class, and we made it happen.

Honestly the best part was watching Andrew fall off his paddle board 3 times.  Just goes to show you all skills don't exactly translate......be strong, mobile.....AND  balanced!

Looking forward to the next time we make it out of the group chat!
