California Dreamin'

We have been going, going, going, going, going this Summer.  Its good, and bad, and wonderful, and hard, and amazing!  We Longmire's go hard, and then rip our bathroom out in the middle of it.  I may have a few more gray hairs than I did 3 months ago.....a C'est La Vie!

After Bob and I finished up our work in Riverside we headed back to Newport Beach to pick up our girls who had been having the time of their lives with Aunt Sue (aka Grandma).

We stayed for one night with them, played in the pool, and celebrated Evie's birthday with a mermaid cupcake before heading over to see our dear friends Traci and Tyler!

Life has a funny way of just going by fast and I treasure the rare moments when we can get our schedules coordinated and see this family.  Last time I hugged them was when that little peanut was a wee newborn.

We had a blast together and started our weekend with a movie in the park.  The girls ran around and played while we enjoyed dinner, wine, and fun on our phones before the movie started.

On our Saturday we took Miss Audrey to the beach and had a glorious day dashing in and out of the freezing water.  We jumped off the sand dunes, chased each other around in the water.

It was everything the beach should be!

Sunday was Father's Day and I was so incredibly grateful to be able to share it with Traci and Tyler.  I had the opportunity to take their family photos and couldn't help but sneak in a few of our bunch.

Traci and I are both amazingly blessed with the men that lead our families and absolutely love that we got to spend the day and the weekend together!

All of Life

Vacation Bible School has such a special place in my heart.  I can remember countless summers spent next to Mom playing guitar and singing "Pharoh, Pharoh, OOOHHHH baby let me people go, HUH, YEAH, YEAH, YEAH, YEAH!"  That one and of course "Awesome God."  I loved VBS.  I loved participating in it and I loved volunteering when I had technically outgrown it.

Since having kids I have not volunteered to be a part of a VBS until this summer.  For me, VBS was a way to take a break from kids, not surround myself with hundreds of them, but this year I decided to dig in and volunteer.

It was an especially great year to do it because we also took our good friends Kayla and Faith with us!  Such a fun time and I think all of the girls had a blast.

Yes, that is a flower headband on my head.

This year's All of Life camp was all about the Miracles of Jesus, and those two characters are Belinda Nye, and Dr, VanHelsing aka Pat Pat the Science Rat.  They were awesome and we had so many fun times seeing if the scientist could recreate a Jesus Miracle.  We learned a lot about the miraculous this week and when it comes to Jesus sometimes science just can't come close.

I put myself on a different team than all of my girls out of the firm belief that they should get to know some other leaders in our village.  They all had a blast and came away with such great memories.  I think everyone's favorite day was water day complete with a huge Fire Truck that doused us all with water.

All of Life Camp 2019 was a smashing success.....and I am pooped!
