Matthews Come to Town

A Couple of summers ago, I helped drive Rebekah and Steve and their family out to their new home in Texas.  The move was entirely bittersweet and while I was so excited for their opportunities, I was equally sad for the change in friendship location.  That said, it makes the reunion times so much better and this month yielded a much needed visit. 

The time together was so short, but it was so lovely to reconnect, watch the next Fast and Furious movie (FAMILY!) and have a pool party with Ashley's Army.  All of these kids are growing up so fast and it was so lovely to see them all just jump right back into friendship.

Time and distance are a sneaky thief, but its these special moments that make all the distance seem a little bit less.

 

Evie takes the MAT!

I have had this post pending in my qeue for months...literally.  I think I have this idea of exactly how I want it to look and its not there yet, but frankly I don't want to forget that Evie practices Jiu Jitsu!

It has been such a great form physical outlet for her and it checks all her boxes, physical touch and wrestling!  The kid loves it, and honestly, she's good.

I am so excited to see where Jiu Jitsu takes her and excited to watch her continue to take the mat!
