Fall Family TIme

Goodness, ITS NOVEMBER and I am so very behind in my blogging!  Last week I felt like I couldn't get ahead of myself and spent the entire week just trying to catch up.  Wow am I behind!  Get ready everyone, this week is gonna be a big catch up week!

Grandpa Bob came in for a quick weekend visit last weekend.  It was so wonderful to see him and to introduce him to his newest Granddaughter.  Evie was a doll and gave him plenty of smiles and snuggles.  She is such a cutie.  Grandpa Bob joined us on our run last Saturday.  We put him on Bob's mountain bike and he rode our 7 miles.  We stopped for a little playground break and took some time to get some pictures of the colors and mountains.  Grandpa was jealous of this place we call home.  Victoria, TX is just not Denver, CO.

We always try to do something fun and unique when he comes into town so this time we decided to try out the pumpkin patch and corn maze at the Botanical Gardens.  The day was just perfect for our little outing and we had a great time soaking up the fall fun.  It was a bit of a bust because the snow we had a couple of weeks ago killed all of the corn stalks for the maze and there was not one pumpkin to be had.  Oh well, the corn maze was easier to navigate when you could see where you were going!

Lily thoroughly enjoyed all of the little attractions including a barrel train.  Lily wanted her Daddy in the barrel with her so poor Bob had to squeeze his non barrel size self into the barrel plus find room for Miss Lily.  He did it with a smile.  He sure does love his ladies.

Lily's favorite attraction was the covered wagon ride pulled by the Kodiac Clydesdales.  It was like a moth to the flame when she saw them pulling in the distance.  We could not get in the line for the "carriage" fast enough.  To add to the glee, the driver of the horses gave everyone a sucker.  Lily's dream land, sugar and horses.  Evie was content to go and do whatever.  It was all quite overwhelming, but she was a good sport to be sure.  By the time we made it to the corn maze, the girls were flat out falling apart.  In the middle of the maze we decided we needed out an NOW.  We started cutting through non marked areas and ended up getting scolded.  Seriously corn maze officer.  We are melting down.  Don't care about your corn maze rules.  GET US OUT OF HERE!

Later that night Grandpa Bob sat down and did some of Lily's favorite things, read "Cat in the Hat," and finger paint.  They had a blast just the two of them.

Before he left Grandpa Bob and Grandma Lynn also gave Lily her very first telescope.  Now Lily can see the stars and the moon even better!

Such a sweet time albeit short.  Can't wait to have Grandpa back soon and hopefully next time Grandma Lynn can come too!

My Girls

October is simply my favorite month in the fall!  I love how the leaves are changing and the city is just filled with colors and a constantly changing landscape.  Its beautiful.  This month has been especially awesome because we have gotten our first bout of snow!  We woke up to about 2 inches of wet snow and Lily was beside herself with glee.  Bob took her outside and helped her build her first snow man of the season.  When I woke up I was amazed!  It was nearly 5 feet tall and Lily was so happy.

Lily is growing up so fast these days and sometimes I have to remind myself that she is still little.   Somedays its like she is 2 going on 5.   In 2 weeks she will be 3.  SLOW DOWN TIME!

Evie got her first taste of horses the other day.  Memaw couldn't resist putting the tiny creature up on the pony and she was simply content in her spot.  I think it would be Memaws dream to have two grandgirls that loved horses.  We will see.

The most wonderful thing that happened this past week was that Lily asked Jesus into her heart.  It was so precious.  I know she is young, but Jesus is the most real and simple to the little ones.  We were talking about how Jesus lives in our house and I said, "Lily, do you know that Jesus can live in your heart? and when you are ready, Mommy can help you invite him in!"  She said, "Mommy, I want Jesus in my heart!"  So she said a little prayer after me and now she will tell you, Jesus is down in her heart!  Out of the mouth of babes.  Thank you Jesus for making your home in my little Lily's heart.

I am finding a deeper love for photography these days and just love when I can get my girls in a happy place for picture taking.  Lily is simply crazy and I just have to capture her in the middle of her playtime.  This is one of my favorites from our little photoshoot.  She's a raggamuffin.  But a cute one to be sure.

Miss Evie is a great picture target these days.  Since she doesn't move around to well and is so alert and loves being on her tummy, its perfect.  I have a posse of baby bows and just love her little expressions. She is simply so very precious right now.  She spends most of her time talking, squealing and giggling. In fact, the other night Lily was running around being silly and Evie was giggling at her.  It was so cute

Gosh I love my girls.
